The Art of Seeing
An invitation to see the world from new perspectives
True pioneers see things before anyone else. In business as well as in art.
The bank SEB has one of the most impressive collections of contemporary art in the Nordic countries, including 225 pieces from more than 60 artists alive and active today. To spark curiosity and spread knowledge about the collection, we developed a new concept: ”The Art of Seeing”. An invitation to see the world from new perspectives.
In the first publication – "The Art of Seeing: Rituals" – we meet artist Ylva Snöfrid and business leader Daniel Sachs. With the help of writer and moderator Lina Thomsgård, we hear them reflect on how they view the world, art, and rituals.
During the project, Ylva Snöfrid created a new artwork at the entrance of the SEB office. She was also given the task of highlighting an artwork from the collection that she herself draws inspiration from. A way to get closer to the artist and understand the underlying motivations.
“I have tried to strip away what is inessential in life. This is a personal and subjective ambition – it works in both directions. I’m trying to turn receipts into art – I’m also trying to turn art into receipts. It ends up being a kind of ongoing, existential back and forth.”
The concept also included an event and a discussion on stage between the artist and the entrepreneur.
